Ayurvedic Massage

Ayruvedic massage – ancient India’s best kept secret

Ayurveda – the science of life – is the traditional Indian system of medicine. It considers the balance between the mind, body and spirit to enhance wellbeing and delay ageing. Ayurveda places great importance on prevention of disease; ayurvedic massage is considered a keystone of that process.

I use warm ayurvedic oils infused with ayurvedic herbs chosen for your unique constitution. Whilst working with the breath so that your nervous system can let go of stress, ayurvedic massage techniques are combined with acupressure of Marma points to promote a healthy flow of energy or prana* – a Sanskrit word that translates as “vital life force.” Treatments can be taken as a one-off session for relaxation or as a course of treatments.

AMNANDA THERAPY

A rejuvenating program of 12 treatments carried out over a year to release the negative effects of deeply held stress and tension on the body and mind.

“It is my belief, that everything we need is available naturally if we can harness it.”

In the early 90’s I was working in the insurance industry. Medical malpractice claims clearly showed that outcomes in medicine are not always as presented to patients at the outset.

I started working in natural health and beauty after a health scare led me to overhaul how I lived. I have organised events with speakers including the renowned naturopath, the late Jan de Vries, Janey Lee Grace ex BBC2 presenter who shares a passion for wellness and holistic living, Jo Wood of Jo Wood Organics (ex wife of Ronnie Wood of Rolling Stones!) and the outstanding holistic vet Chris Day as well as working with a fashion brand to develop a certified organic skincare range.

An ayurvedic consultation where small lifestyle changes were suggested (including not to wear red as it would make me angry!) had such an impact on my health that I went on to train in ayurvedic therapies with Sunita Passi whose grandfather had been an ayurvedic doctor in India. I have trained further with Andy and Laura Shakeshaft of Essential Ayurveda and Minnie Sonecha of Manal London.

I am a huge advocate of an integrative approach to health, combining the best of modern science with the wisdom of ancient knowledge. I am fascinated by biohacking and autophagy and antiaging from a cellular perspective.
